As detailed in the Environmental and Sustainability statement, we work to actively promote improved environmental practices. We are particularly proud to have been commended with an award for Waste Minimisation. This recognises the real achievements made by the business in the areas of:
Reducing waste going to landfill.
Recycling materials and consumables at every opportunity.
Reducing energy consumption through, for example, smart lighting and variable speed motors and efficient heating.
We continue to work to improve further our environmental impact both for the present and for the future.
Unlike some materials, for example, GRP / composites, we actively promote recyclable materials to our customers. Such as, aluminium, ABS, steel, HIPS and many more. This is so the customers with an ‘end of life’ strategy (EOL) can readily recycle the products, minimising the impact on the environment.
Plastic Sheets Ltd is an online brokerage we have set up in order to create a community of companies using plastic sheeting to buy and sell their stock. Plastic Sheets aims to have environmental responsibility as a central value. Use of our brokerage service helps businesses to save resources, minimise energy use and reduce wastage. In line with our ethical approach, we have specific policies relating to anti-bribery, anti-slavery and corporate responsibility. In addition to concern for the natural environment, we also endeavour to contribute to our local community, beyond just employment and the use of local suppliers.
What we do varies year to year, but regularly includes seasonal donations to the less fortunate in society (usually via the Salvation Army). We have also sponsored prizes in a local neighbourhood “in bloom” competition.
